Nanlulugon ang buhok

“Ay kalbo ka na papa, “ my son remarked and followed up with, “papa, sagwa pala, e di ganyan ako pagtanda ko….”

With age comes losing a lot of things…..physically. Hair, strength, eyesight, memory, concentration. The only thing that increases, is experience.

We learn life along the way. We win, we fail, we aim, we inspire, we stymie, but we go on living our life. What we are now is the result of how we travel our life. What we are now is the result of how we focus on our objectives. We don’t have to cover our pitfalls. We don’t have to hide our failures. We must let it be exposed, and just go on with our lives.

Jesus showed us resiliency in fulfilling His mission in life. He fell, He got frustrated, but He was victorious in the end.

For every strand of hair that’s lost, is an experience added to our lives. For every hair that turned gray, is a testimony of how we rise up from our fall. For every millimeter of forehead exposed, is a mind full of wisdom and understanding.

I offset my receding hairline by growing a mustache and a beard.

Now my son remarks, “ang haba na ng balbas mo.” followed with, “macho ng bigote mo papa.”

(Proverbs 9:10-11 “To be wise you must first have reverence for the Lord. If you know the Holy One, you have understanding. Wisdom will add years to your life.”)

“So we all are growing old. And it’s getting old
Pressure on our hollow bones and the varicose
Suddenly we decompose. But we’re not alone.” – (Silverspun)
