Why you were the culprit….

Kakarating ko lang sa office ng ang isa kong kasamahan, a Sales Engineer called up and told me nabangga siya. He was with two other employees at malaki raw ang tama sa tagiliran ng sasakyan. I asked him kung saan nangyari ang banggaan, took my camera and proceeded to our HR Department. Nireport ko sa Transport Section and told them to send our Saudi Transport Coordinator.

Actually, banggaan is not the right term, binangga kasi siya. They were waiting for our HR guy,  amo noong Indian driver at ang insurance police na magiimbestiga.

I printed first the photos I took at pagpasok ko sa office ni GM ay sinalubong agad ako ng salita na “I heard your kabayan was driving very fast and so reckless that he bumped another car in the highway.” Sinagot ko siya, “Who told you Sir?”. Na sinagot ako ng “his immediate Boss, and his Boss already asked our HR to send our Tranport Coordinator.”

I answered him, “Sir, let me correct 4 points in your statement. First, he was driving slowly since it is a residential area, second, he was so cautious, third, he was the one who was knocked by the other driver, fourth, I was the one who reported the matter to HR not his Boss. His Boss just instructed him to report it to HR.”

He looked at it and told me (ang another GM who was in his office), “right, it is very clear that the other driver bumped him” Tapos tumawag siya sa HR, at ang sabi “I have here the photos of the accident, don’t ever agree that it is our man who caused the accident.”

“Alam mo ba na after the investigation, ako raw may kasalanan? 75% of the damage ay shouldered ng insurance natin! And I have to pay 500 riyals as penalty for reckless driving!” ang sama ng loob na bulalas niya.

Saudi to Saudi. Even the Insurance Police agreed.” ang sagot niya.

“Finally, noong wala na maikatuwiran, ang sabi niya: HE IS THE CAUSE OF THIS ACCIDENT! IF HE DID NOT COME TO WORK IN THIS COUNTRY, THIS ACCIDENT WILL NOT HAPPEN!”

Case closed.

By the way, ang Boss ng kasamahan ko ay isa ring Pinoy.

“Early man walked away. As modern man took control. Their mind’s weren’t all the same and to conquer was their goal
So he built his great empire. And he slaughtered his own kind and he died a confused man. He killed himself in his own mind.
Were only gonna die from our own arrogance. That’s why we might as well take our time.” – Sublime
