HEALING STARTS FROM FIGHTING YOUR FEARS

Noong buhay pa si Tatay, I heard this conversation between him and my younger sister while she was doing the laundry:

My Sister: “Sugat sugat ang kamay ko tatay, ang sakit, ang hapdi”
Tatay: “Bakit nagsugat sugat?”
My Sister: “Sa dami ng nilalabhan ko”
Tatay: (sabay bagsak ng ilan pang labahin) “o ayan pa ang labahin”
My Sister: “Tatay naman, paano gagaling ang sugat ko niyan e dinagdagan pa ninyo labahin?”
Tatay: “Nagkasugat ka sa paglalaba, diyan din sa paglalaba iyan gagaling. Takot lang iyan. Labhan mo, este, labanan mo.” (exact words niya iyan ha, hindi patawa)

Gumaling ang sugat sa kamay ng kapatid ko.

At gumaling pa siya maglaba.

That was when i learned to fight my fears.
