FOCUS ON OUR RESPONSIBILITIES NOT RIGHTS

“I’m Starting With The Man In The Mirror
I’m Asking Him To Change His Ways
And No Message Could Have Been Any Clearer
If You Want Make The World A Better Place
Take A Look At Yourself, And Then Make A Change”

No candidate is perfect. However..

Let us not see personalities. Let us not look at a hero. Let us not focus on a knight in a shining armor  who claims he can save us from the wretchedness in our country. Let us not see a parent who will put Band Aid or Curitas in our small wounds. Let us not admire someone whose answer to criminality is killing. Let us not allow history changers. Let us abhor cursing, adultery and hooliganism for it will send a message to new generation that these are normal and better than being patient, sincere and understanding. Let us kick out thieves who pose like saints during elections.  Let us not listen to glib talkers who avoid the issues and instead tell us of his achievements and experiences.

Let us see the macro management capability, a city is not a country. Let us see connections, machinery and diplomatic experience, our President represents us internationally both in foreign trade and politics. Let us see  the desire to act on a “sense of duty” not by desire to achieve personal or political ambition. Let us see a leader, his sense of persuasion, refraining from use of power to silence offenders but persuading them to change. Let us see somebody who can provide the “fish rod” not the “fish” (dole-outs) to our people.

Let us choose a leader who will invest in building bridges, not walls. Books, not weapons. Morality, not corruption. Intellectualism and wisdom, not ignorance. Stability, not fear and terror. Peace, not chaos. Love, not hate. Convergence, not segregation. Tolerance, not discrimination. Fairness, not hypocrisy. Substance, not superficiality. Character, not immaturity. Transparency, not secrecy. Justice, not lawlessness. Environmental improvement and preservation, not destruction. Truth, not lies.

Let us see ourselves. Let us see OBLIGASYON rather than KARAPATAN. Let us see PAGSUNOD SA BATAS rather than PAGPAPATUPAD NG BATAS. Who needs the police, the tanods, the judges, to catch “lumalabag sa batas” when all of us are “sumusunod sa batas”.

We always WANT SOMEBODY TO CLEAN UP THE MESS THAT WE CREATE. No President will succeed if the populace will not start cleaning its act.

The development must come from us. And when the new president gets elected, whoever he is, let us support him and do our share. Let us all correct our faults as citizens. Let us be responsible. Let us do what we can for our country not what these candidates can do for us.

Change starts from RESPECT.

”I’m not afraid . To take a stand. Everybody. Come take my hand. We’ll walk this road together, through the storm. Whatever weather, cold or warm. Just letting you know that you’re not alone. Holler if you feel like you’ve been down the same road” – Eminem
